Why Do I Like Taking Photos?

I think of photographs as moments in time.  They are a way of documenting a person, place, or thing, or anything and making the viewer look at such thing in the way the photographer did.  I think  pictures are personal, looking at the world the way the photographer does.  Looking at a photograph allows you to step out of your shoes and into anothers.
For me, looking through the viewfinder connects elements that make a photo strong, along with the emotional draw that attracts the elements to come together into the one space of the viewfinder of the camera.
"To take a photograph means to recognize – simultaneously and within a fraction of a second– both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning.
It is putting one’s head, one’s eye, and one’s heart on the same axis."
-Henri Cartier-Bresson
